Therapeutic Approach:

I come from the perspective that all problems are relational
in nature. The counseling process is a relational alliance
between therapist and client where issues, problems and
struggles can be explored and pursued, creating the possibility
for a changed life. Although we will spend time working
through the specific issues that brought you into counseling,
we will primarily look at the nature of your relationships
with the significant people in your life. These relationships
are likely the source of your greatest joy and of your deepest
struggles. We will explore how your way of relating enhances
and interferes with the relationships around you, with the
ultimate goal being to restore hope in you and bring freedom
in your relationships. By dealing with the source of the
problem we will address symptoms as well. I believe that
some issues can have a physical component; in such cases,
medical consultation will be consulted.
